week 23 picturesjosiah picked up ryan on the first monday back from our trip only to come home to tell me that the babysitter said that ryan was "hen bu guai" (very bad); he wanted to be held all day and even reached his arms out to be held. she asked if we had spoiled him while on vacation. hmmm... maybe a little with all the people holding him and the week of co-sleeping. ai ya, i felt like ryan had gotten his first bad report card. and this was coming from the babysitter that never says anything negative. in fact, i was just talking to my friend judy (who referred me to our babysitter -- thanks again!) about how our babysitter never says anything bad about our kids.
so we set out re-training ryan using the Ferber method. this time i used it during the day too for naps and i saw a difference quickly. he falls asleep in minutes and his naps that used to last only 30 minutes at a time now last over 1.5 hours. the nights are a bit tougher, but he does fall asleep within an hour and his crying is more like light fussing now. by wed, the babysitter said he was a whole lot better... i was never one for bad grades (until college...)
